  • Governor Cuomo Announces New York Telehealth Training Portal among Reimagine New York Commission recommendations

Why Telehealth?

Telehealth is defined by the New York State Department of Health as the use of electronic information and communication technologies to deliver health care to patients at a distance. The Reimagine New York Commission has identified expanding and improving telehealth as essential to build a more accessible, effective, and equitable healthcare system. Telehealth is not considered a "new" specialty or service, but another mechanism or tool to deliver standard care. As telehealth becomes a permanent part of practice, basic provider training is important to ensure quality of service.
